40 LAPS OF EDGE-OF-YOUR-SEAT RACING
IRWINDALE, CA - Jeff Williams qualified on pole and led all 40-laps of the Southwest Tour Truck main event at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale Saturday night.  Every single seat was empty on the last lap as the fans and the pit crews were on their feet watching the top 4 trucks battle for the race win. The crowd erupted when the checkered flag waved!  Side-by-side, bumper-to-bumper, Williams won by a margin of 0.063-seconds!  Christian Copely in the 04 truck finished second, Ronnie Davis, 78, third and Dalton Kuhn, 16, fourth.

The number 28 So Cal Racing Supply Ford F-150 driven by Williams took the pole position with a 20.075-second lap time Saturday afternoon.  After qualifying Williams rolled the dice and it stopped on One, which meant no invert for the main event.

Williams started on pole and inched his way in front of the 16 on the first lap and held on to his lead for the next 40-laps.  The 16 and the 04 battled with Williams every single lap and it wasn't long before the 78 joined in the action to make Saturday nights Southwest Tour Truck race one of the most exciting events seen in a very long time.

This was Williams first win of the season and he currently sits in second place for the 2009 season.  He is on his way towards his fourth straight championship in his red and yellow-flamed 302-powered Ford.

Strong Finish at Orange Show
SAN BERNARDINO, CA - Jeff Williams finished with a strong second place finish in his Southwest Tour Truck at Orange Show Speedway Saturday night.  Stuck in the third position for most of the race, Williams slipped into second place with only a few laps left in the race when the 04 and 16 trucks got together in turns 1 and 2.

Williams qualified 2nd Saturday afternoon and would start on the outside of row 2 behind the 22 truck of Jim Satterfield after the invert.  In the first few laps of the race Williams moved his So Cal Racing Supply Ford F-150 down to the preferred inside line on the short ¼-mile asphalt track.  There is just not much grip on the outside line of the track despite efforts by the track owners to increase more side-by-side racing.  Getting stuck on the outside line at Orange Show Speedway has the same effect as Bristol Motor Speedway.

The 28 truck would reach the bumpers of the 04 truck in the corners, but would lose about 3 truck lengths on the relatively short straights-aways only to make up that distance entering the next corner.  It seemed as though the trucks were connected with a large bungee cord.  With only 3 laps left in the race, the 04 truck was getting desperate as the 16 truck kept leaving a little space open on the inside.  Both drivers were trying very hard and they touched in turn 3 sending the 16 a little sideways.  Entering the next corner the 04 drove into a bit far and slid up the track into the side of the 16.  As the 04 pulled away, Williams took second place and held on for the last two laps with the 16 right on his bumper.

Running With The Super Trucks
IRWINDALE, CA - Jeff Williams raced with the King Taco Super Trucks at Toyota Speedway Saturday night.  Williams was caught up in the wreck that brought out the first caution of the race with only 3 laps to go!

King Taco Super Trucks are powered by the GM Crate 350, are 200-pounds lighter, have direct drive PowerGlides and are a race built tube chassis truck.  A SouthWest Tour Truck is based off a GM Metric chassis much like a Super Stock and are powered by a Ford 302, Chevy 305 or the GM Crate 350 and run a torque converter.

The 28 truck wore the number 8 for the race because the Super Trucks already have a 28 in its field.  That Super Truck was actually built by JW Racing at the beginning of this year and now finishes in the Top 5.  Williams qualified in the 8th position only a tenth of a second away from pole.

Williams started the race on the outside of row 4 and hung close with the lead pack, but those trucks slowly pulled away lap after lap.  Williams was in 9th place for most of the race with a pack of Super Trucks behind him.  Many tried to pass Williams, but could not get the job done.  The 55 truck tried to pass multiple times throughout the race, but the on track battling came to an end on lap 37.  The 55 truck tried passing Williams on the inside once again and lost control coming out of turn 4 running into Williams drivers side door twice.  This sent Williams sideways on the front stretch.  He almost had control of his truck, but it all happened so fast the 55 ending up driving over the hood of Williams truck.

The JW Racing crew was able to take off what was left of the body panels under caution and sent Williams back out on the track to finish 14th.

Williams drove a perfect race and never made a mistake and that is what cost him. Making no mistakes meant that the trucks behind him had to try harder to get by and trying harder isn’t always a good thing.

Williams was invited by the Toyota Speedway officials to race with the Super Trucks and he took them up on that offer, but is unsure if he'll participate again after Saturday's incident. The realization of “twice as many races could result in twice the amount of damage” may be too much to ignore.

Spoilers Work
IRWINDALE, CA - Door-to-door, nose-to-tail SouthWest Tour Truck racing plagued the ½-mile asphalt oval at Toyota Speedway Saturday night.  From first place to last, there were on track battles that kept fans on their feet for all 35-laps of the main event.  Jeff Williams came out with another second place finish and moved up in the point standings to the second spot with first in his sights.

Williams started the day in practice turning very fast times considering the old practice tires his SoCal Racing Supply F-150 was wearing.  A slight stagger adjustment was made for the second practice and the number 28 still turned some quick laps.

In qualifying, the defending champion left nothing on the trailer and let it all hang out trying to turn a fast lap.  Coming off turn 4 on his first full lap, Williams brushed the wall just enough to knock his rear spoiler loose.  Entering the next turn the spoiler flew off causing a huge loss of down force on the rear of the truck.  The 28 became a handful for Williams as he initially did not know his spoiler took the track exit.  He was in a four-wheel drift going through turns 1 and 2 when his crew informed him.  That first lap turned out to be good enough to qualify him in the third position.

The pole sitter spun a 4 for the invert which placed the 78 truck of Ronnie Davis on pole and Williams on his outside for the main event.  Williams battled with Davis for the first few laps of the race and soon pulled out in front.  Williams held onto the lead and battled with the 16 truck for many laps.

The SoCal Racing Supply Ford F-150 would settle for second place with Davis on close behind.

Hot Orange Day

SAN BERNARDINO, CA - Jeff Williams raced to another Top-5 finish at Orange Show Speedway Saturday night.  The JW Racing team endured a sweltering hot day at the race track to eventually walk away with a 2nd place finish.

The number 28 SouthWest Tour Truck was fast right off the trailer turning low 14-second laps.  A couple of adjustments were made in the pits during the one and only practice session that seemed to work out great for the truck.

Williams qualified second and placed him in the trophy dash of the top-4 trucks.  He started in the 3rd position and soon passed the number 16 and 4 trucks to win the four-lap dash.

Williams started outside-pole next to the number 04 truck for the main event.  With one lap before the green flag, the 04 took an uncommon line and squeezed the 28 up the track with a couple nudges with one strategically planned tap just before the green flag was waved to start the race.  This also allowed for the 16 truck to easily get on the inside of Williams truck and complete the pass.

The 28 truck finally passed the 04 after battling for position for nearly 10 laps only to have a caution fly for spin somewhere else on the track.  Williams had to give the position back.

Williams finished the race in 3rd, but after the track officials conducted tech inspection the first place finisher was disqualified and received no points for the race.  Williams was moved up to a 2nd place finish.

Williams Qualifies #1

IRWINDALE, CA - The ½-mile paved oval of Toyota Speedway at Irwindale was home to some exciting racing Saturday night.  The SouthWest Tour Trucks premier race proved to be exciting for all involved.  The pits were packed!

Jeff Williams drove his SoCal Racing Supply Ford F-150 to the top of the pole in qualifying with a 19.910 lap!  That is 3-tenths faster than the second place.  Williams spun a 4 and the top four trucks were inverted for the main.

Williams stared on the outside of row-2 and by the time the field was exiting turn-2 on the first lap, Williams took his #28 truck around the outside of the #87 truck of Neil Conrad to end up side-by-side for second place.  By the second lap, Williams was door-to-door with the leader Jim Satterfield in the #22.  Satterfield held on to the lead for a lap and a half as Williams inched by and cleared him entering turn-3.

The #28 pulled out ahead of the field and gained more than a straightaway lead.  Williams said, "I was just cruising out front, having a great time."  This was true until he was exiting turn-4 on lap 15 when the engine let out a few big cracks and booms through the tailpipes.  The roll pin holding the distributor gear sheared off ending the night for the #1 qualifier and race leader.

JW Racing would like to welcome a new sponsor to the #28, LittlePeoplesPlayhouseDaycare.com.  Williams qualifying time of 19.910 was actually fast enough to out qualify the entire field of King Taco Super Trucks by 3-thousandths of a second.

JW Racing Wins Race And Championship
3 IN A ROW!

BLYTHE, CA - Jeff Williams raced to another victory and his third straight championship in his Ford powered F-150 West Coast Pro Truck at I-10 Speedway Saturday night.  Williams is the first driver in the history of the series to win three championships!

The JW Racing team arrived in Blythe, CA Friday afternoon for practice with a lot on their minds.  The final race of the season was changed to a Double-Points race, which put the JW Racing team in jeopardy of losing their points lead if Williams did not finish strong.

The anxiety rose as Saturday approached.  Williams was first to qualify on the ¼-mile asphalt track in the late afternoon and he let his presence be known.  He piloted his yellow-flamed red Ford truck as it flew around the track and cranked out an impressive 14.74-second lap time that earned him the #1 spot.  That's two-tenths faster than the old track record!

Next on the schedule was the Trophy Dash, which consists of the top 4 trucks running a 4-lap feature to get the crowd excited for the main event.  Williams hung back a little knowing that he needed to keep his truck in one piece for the main event.

Williams started the main event on pole and led all 50-laps!  He earned bonus points for leading a lap and leading the most laps.  The 28 truck hooked so well around the entire track, Williams gained a substantial lead over the rest of the field of trucks and kept pulling away the entire race.  A late red flag flew with 3-laps to go for a small fire on another truck.  The late restart placed the 16 truck of Dalton Kuhn on Williams' bumper, but it didn't matter as Williams pulled away as soon as the green flag dropped.  After the race Williams held the checkered flag out the window of his Spectre Performance, Rare Parts Ford F-150 for a victory lap around the track the wrong way.

JW Racing finished in the Top-5 every race this season with 5 Wins and multiple Pole Positions.

Orange CRUSH

SAN BERNARDINO, CA - With tire marks, cracked fiberglass, screeching tires and extremely close racing, Jeff Williams came away with his fourth win of the season at Orange Show Speedway Saturday night.  The JW Racing team and their loyal fans held their arms high and cheered as Williams extended his points lead with only one race left in the season.

OSS is an exciting ¼-mile asphalt track built inside an old high school stadium.  Williams qualified his Ford F-150 West Coast Pro Truck in the second position with a 14.1s lap time.  Ricky James, driver of the number 24 Chevy Silverado grabbed the pole position with a 14.0.

The 28 truck started on the outside front row for the 50-lap main event.  Williams quickly moved down in behind the 24 just in front of the 04 driven by Christian Copley.  The outside line is drivable at Orange Show, but it's not the fastest.  Williams held his position right behind the 24 truck lap after lap and seemed to handle much better through the middle of the corner.  Williams soon got his nose inside of the 24, but got it chopped entering turn 1.  A couple of laps later he got further up beside the 24, but the 24 did not want to give it up easy.  They touched going into turn 3 sending both trucks a bit sideways.  Williams knew his championship was on the line and waited a few more laps behind the 24 until he was able to get a good run off the corner and complete the pass on the inside of James.

Williams pulled away from the pack and held his lead for the rest of the race.  A couple late caution flags flew for debris and one red flag when the 16 truck of Dalton Kuhn caught on fire.  It was quickly extinguished and the race resumed.

The number 28 Spectre Performance, Rare Parts, SinFuel Choppers 302-powered Ford F-150 took the checkered flag home and celebrated with some donuts on the infield.

100 Laps In A
SUPER TRUCK

IRWINDALE, CA - JW Racing shifted gears on Saturday by racing in the King Taco Super Truck series 100-lap season finale at Toyota Speedway.  26 trucks entered the race and at the wave of the checkers, 20 were still on the lead lap.

The JW Racing team was given the opportunity to race thanks to the owners of Super Truck, Inc.  They offered to allow Jeff Williams to drive one of their trucks if he built the truck.  JW Racing took on this daunting task a month before the race and finished the truck Saturday morning at the track.  The number 28 Super Truck went from a bare chassis and four tires to a race ready truck thanks to the hard work of the JW Racing crew.

With about 9 practice laps complete on Saturday afternoon, Williams headed to qualifying and took the Spectre Performance Super Truck around the ½-mile paved oval in 20.0-seconds.  That was less than 1 tenth of a second from qualifying in the top 5.

The Super Truck field is so tightly packed Williams started the 100-lap main event 11th.  It was not long after the green flag dropped that there were trucks 3-wide in both turns with the 28 in the mix.  Throughout the race there was some give and take of positions with lots of action packed door-to-door racing.  A couple of caution flags flew during the race, but no major wrecks.

At the checkers, Williams found himself in the 13th position.  The JW Racing crew and Super Truck Inc were very pleased with the results of the hard work and dedication that went into this truck and race.  Even with the little time the crew had to build the truck, nothing was overlooked.  The 28 Super Truck made it from green to checkered with zero hiccups!

Under 20

IRWINDALE, CA - Toyota Speedway's ½-mile oval offered some exciting racing Saturday night.  From Jeff Williams' fast qualifying lap of 19.95 to Ronnie Davis' first win in the West Coast Pro Truck series, these racers were driving hard from start to finish!

Jeff Williams is always looking to make improvements on his number 28 Ford F-150.  With a little pixy dust and a positive attitude, Williams took his Spectre Performance, Rare Parts, SinFuel Choppers Ford to its fastest qualifying lap at the Irwindale race track.  It was close to the record, but the 19.95s lap-time placed Williams at the top of the pole.

Williams spun a 3 invert and would start on the inside of row two.  Davis started on pole in his number 78 truck and would eventually lead the entire race.  Williams quickly moved into second place after getting by the 24 of Rickie James.  The 28 and 78 battled it out for a few laps until Williams fell in behind Davis.  Dalton Kuhn and James both attempted to pass Williams lap after lap, but never cleared the 28.

Williams finished the race in second place; extending his points lead in the chase for the championship.  Next stop, Orange Show Speedway, October 18.

Action Packed Truck Racing

IRWINDALE, CA - The fans witnessed loads of action on the racetrack at Toyota Speedway Saturday night.  Jeff Williams drove his championship West Coast Pro Truck to another strong Top-5 finish by crossing the finish line 3rd after an eventful race.

The first lap of the race was cut short when 4 trucks made contact and came to rest in the middle or turns 1 and 2.  Williams started on pole and held his lead while the 24 of Ricky James and the 16 of Dalton Kuhn attempted to pass lap after lap.  These trucks raced side-by-side, sometimes even a little too close.

Later in the race, some lap traffic got in the way allowing the 16 and 24 trucks to stay low, forcing Williams to take the 28 truck high and 3-wide on the outside of the lapped truck.  During this maneuver, Kuhn and James inched by Williams.

Williams held onto 3rd place for the rest of the race with no pressure from behind.  The Spectre Performance, Rare Parts, SinFuel Choppers Ford powered F-150 made another appearance on the podium.  The entire JW Racing team is looking forward to the next race on the ½-mile oval at Toyota Speedway.

Spectre Performance Increases Sponsorship

NEWBURY PARK,CA - Spectre Performance recently increased its sponsorship involvement with the Newbury Park based number 28 West Coast Pro Truck of JW Racing.  Driver Jeff Williams and crew are extremely happy with the support provided by Spectre.

"The guys at Spectre Performance are the kind of sponsors everyone wants," said Williams.  "They like racing, come to watch us race and are thrilled to be a part of JW Racing!"

The entire crew is pleased with acquiring an increase in sponsorship from Spectre Performance.  After winning the last two races and pulling back into the points lead, Williams is ready to make another strong run for a win this weekend in his Championship Spectre Performance, Rare Parts, SinFuel Choppers Ford F-150 powered by a JW Racing Engines 302 V8.

The West Coast Pro Truck touring series last raced on the ½-mile asphalt oval of Toyota Speedway at Irwindale on June 21 and is headed back to the track this Saturday, August 2.  The mid-season break gave the race teams some extra time to tend to their trucks that should make for some exciting door-to-door racing.

Here We Go Again!

IRWINDALE, CA - Jeff Williams continued his come back run towards his third consecutive championship in the West Coast Pro Truck series Saturday night.  The competition was trying to end his chances and Williams answered with back-to-back wins and victory donuts on the ½-mile Toyota Speedway at Irwindale!

Williams and the JW Racing crew baked in the 108° sun while walking on asphalt reaching temperatures of over 160°.  The conditions were not perfect during afternoon practice, but the truck still turned some decent times for such a hot day.  The crew decided to leave the truck alone because the track was guaranteed to tighten up for the race after the sun stopped trying to melt the track.  Williams took the 28 Spectre Performance, Rare Parts, SinFuel Choppers Ford F-150 around the track for a qualifying lap that just missed the pole position by .03-seconds!

After the invert of 4, Williams started in the third position on the inside of row 2 next to the 24 of Ricky James.  The field took the green flag and as they came out of turn-2, Dalton Kuhn in the 16 truck led and was closely followed by Christian Copley in the 04 with Williams on the inside.

The 28 steadily worked past the 04 lap after lap and was soon in second reeling in the 16.  The closer Williams got to Kuhn the truck seemed to gain more ground each lap.  Williams soon passed the 16 on the inside and held the lead for the rest of the race.  A couple of cautions brought the trucks back together, but the 28 flew through the corners and held the lead to the checkered flag for the second week in a row!

June 14, 2008 Post-Race
Pole. Win. Donuts.

IRWINDALE, CA - When the race ends with victory donuts, it was an excellent race day.  Leading every lap, especially the last one, of the 40-lap race made for a great show.  Ricky James in the 24 truck and Christian Copley in the 04 were waiting the entire race for Jeff Williams' 28 truck to bobble, slide or make some sort of mistake that never happened.

The JW Racing crew of Vern Williams, Camren Beattie and David Beattie helped Jeff make his truck the best it could be on Saturday night.  It wasn't easy during practice.  The hot weather didn't help the extremely loose truck.  The crew made some handling changes for the second practice, but saw no improvement.

A decision was made to undo the changes and go in another direction with the set-up for qualifying.  Not knowing how the truck would handle, Williams drove the number 28 Spectre Performance, Rare Parts.com, SinFuel Choppers West Coast Pro Truck to an outstanding qualifying lap time of 20.15-seconds that earned him the pole position!  That is the fastest the 28 has ever gone around the Toyota Speedway ½-mile oval.

After the invert, Williams started outside pole.  At the drop of the green flag the 04 pulled a little, but as Williams exited turn 2, he had the 28 a nose in front of the 04 and cleared him exiting turn 4.  The rest of the race consisted of the 24 truck, closely followed by the 04, on the tail of Williams.  Sometimes it was 3-wide on the bottom of the track!  Thanks to fast clean driving there were no wrecks or spins.  Other than a few mechanical failures by other trucks, (and the #3 truck catching fire after the checkered flag) all the action was up front.

The VEGAS 75

NEWBURY PARK, CA - The JW Racing team is filling up their coolers with plenty of water and Gatorade at an attempt to beat the heat in Las Vegas this weekend.  Jeff Williams hopes to place higher in the Top-5 this week after coming off of a 4th place finish at Orange Show Speedway last Saturday.

Williams is confident his truck will perform better after he attended to a brake issue that could be a cause or a reaction to something else with the truck.  This is only one of the topics that is producing stress on this non-profit race team.

JW Racing is looking for some fun at the Bullring.  California rock band Mama Hagglin will be performing at the track.  An on-track driver autograph session, petting zoo and pony rides will add to the thrill of Saturday night racing!

The fan gates will open at 5 p.m.  The concession stands offer a family-friendly dollar menu, featuring $1 hot dogs, $1 soda and $1 beer!!!  For more track info, visit www.lvms.com VIDEO POSTED 06/20/08

Racing in the Desert

NEWBURY PARK, CA - JW Racing is gearing up for the next West Coast Pro Truck race in beautiful Arizona Saturday night.  Most people tow boats, wave runners and coolers packed full of beer out to Lake Havasu, but not Jeff Williams.  Behind the red 2007 F-150 is the yellow-flamed, red number 28 truck on top of the red Big Tex trailer.  The chase vehicle is not a Ford, but it is red and it is packed with important spare parts: 302 engine, C4 transmission, rear-end and Hoosier tires.

The last time the WCPT series raced at Havasu 95 Speedway, Williams ended up in the turn-1 wall after leading the majority of the race. He won there in the past and is looking forward to another win at the exciting ¼-mile asphalt oval.

With the heavy shadow cast by the 350 crate engine, Williams is hoping to out handle the trucks running the new engine option.  The short straightaways will hopefully make the crate engines greater torque an almost non-issue.  The JW Racing team spent many nights in the garage this week making fine adjustments to the truck to make it faster through the corners.

Hanging Tough

IRWINDALE, CA -  Jeff Williams earned another Top-5 finish Saturday.  Toyota Speedway at Irwindale is an exciting track for both the fans and drivers in the West Coast Pro Truck Series.  The high speeds and progressive banking allow many different driving styles and three-wide racing.

Williams qualified his Spectre Performance, Rare Parts, DAY Motorsports, SinFuel Choppers Ford Powered F-150 in the fourth position with time even faster than last week.  The pole sitter, Ricky James, drew an invert of 3 that sent the 04 truck to the front.

The 28 truck hung with the top trucks during the first half of the race, but Williams had to use up his tires to early to try and stay close.  He slipped back to fifth place after battling hard to hold his position.  The amount of torque these new crate engines are producing would make most trucks amazing!

The entire JW Racing team is preparing for the next race and trying to find a little more power to hang with the new engine regulations.

Another Top-5 Finish

IRWINDALE, CA - JW Racing earned another Top-5 for the 2008 season at Toyota Speedway Saturday.  Coming off of a win at a ¼-mile track where superior driving is key, the fourth place finish at the large ½-mile in Irwindale, Calif. came down to a battle of horsepower.

The long straightaways, progressive banking and 66-foot wide track are a luxury when it comes to short track racing.  Many drivers shine at that track and lots of good racing unfolded mid pack.

Jeff Williams qualified his Spectre Performance, Rare Parts.com, DAY Motorsports, SinFuel Choppers Ford Powered F-150 in the third position with a decent time.  The pole sitter, Ricky James, drew an invert of 3 that sent Williams to the front to start the race.

Williams got a good jump at the start of the race and held on for a number of laps, but the 24, 78 and 58 soon passed the 28 on the inside.  A caution flag flew on lap 19.  This placed all the trucks in track position order.  With lapped trucks in the mix, Williams had his hands full passing them on the outside and inside while battling the 58 for the third position.  After the lap traffic was clear the 58 passed once again.

A special congrats goes out to Ricky James who earned his first West Coast Pro Truck win.

One Race, One Win

BLYTHE, CA - A sunny weekend made for great racing at Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway.  The JW Racing team was ready to kick off the 2008 racing season in high gear!

During Friday nights practice the Goodyear tires turned fast laps as usual, but since there are no more new Goodyear's available, a new tire company is needed for the 2008 season.  The West Coast Pro Trucks have the option of running either American Racer tires or Hoosier's for the first four races of the season.  After that, Hoosier's will be the official tire of the series.

Jeff Williams tested on both tires and decided to practice on the Hoosier tires.  The four sticker tires turned lap times just as fast as the Goodyear's even on the very cold track.

Williams qualified 3rd but his first lap of qualifying was not recorded, which caused some frustration to the team.

The Trophy Dash was a little different at this race.  The track decided to run six trucks for six laps instead of the usual 4x4.  Williams started on the inside of the 3rd row after the track officials did a double invert of the trucks qualifying positions.

By the first turn Williams was side-by-side for third and soon cleared the other truck for the position.  A couple of laps later the 28 truck cleared another truck to take second place.  Coming to the White Flag Williams got on the inside of Jim Satterfield in the number 22 truck and passed him coming out of turn two to take the lead.  He continued around the track and proceeded to take the checkered and win the trophy dash.

For the 50-lap main event the Spectre Performance, SinFuel Choppers, Rare Parts.com, Day Motorsports, JW Racing Ford Truck would start outside pole.  As the field entered turn one, Williams was already over taking the 58 truck for the lead.

The 87 truck spun and brought out the only caution of the race.  After the single file restart, Williams was told by officials that he jumped the start and he would have to allow the second place truck to pass him, or else he would be Black-Flagged off the track.  Having no choice Williams reluctantly gave up the lead to the 24 truck.  As soon as he fell in behind the 24 Williams passed him for the lead in the next corner and proceeded to pull away from the field again.

Williams led the pack with a considerable lead as the rest of the field battled for position.  Late in the race the Hoosier tires seemed to become very slick, but Williams was able to keep his truck in the lead and take home the checkered. A close second went to Ricky James in the number 24.

2008 Season is Gearing Up

NEWBURY PARK, CA - The 2008 season for JW Racing is set to take the green flag at I-10 Speedway in Blythe, CA Saturday night.  Jeff Williams is coming off another championship year and is looking forward to another electrifying season in his number 28 West Coast Pro Truck.

Williams enjoys racing at I-10 Speedway.  He finished the 2006 & 2007 seasons at that track with both the race win and the championship.  At the end of 2007 Williams lapped all but two trucks in the 50-lap event.

"I-10 Speedway is a drivers track," Williams commented.  "It takes real talent to stay consistent and pass trucks at this oddly-shaped oval."

The JW Racing crew is packing up everything they need for this race.  They know what it takes to win championships and preparation is key.

"We used to never have a chase vehicle," said crewmember Camren Beattie.  "Now we can barely fit all we need with it."

JW Racing carries a spare engine, transmission, rear-end, tires and many other essential spare parts for that one time when they will need it.

Jeff Williams finished last season with 6 wins and with the greater amount of races on the schedule in 2008, he hopes to increase his win total.

JW Racing is one of the hottest father-son truck race teams on the asphalt track in Southern California.  This West Coast Pro Truck team is not your typical Saturday night racing bunch.  Precision tuning and exact measurements by its dedicated crew keep the 28 truck ahead of the pack every race day.  For more information visit www.jeffwilliamsracing.com.

JW Racing Takes Home the Championship

BLYTHE, CA - Another exciting weekend unfurled as the West Coast Pro Trucks racing series called an end to its racing season at I-10 Speedway Saturday.  The cold weather and sunny sky made for some aggressive track battles and spectacular passes on the ¼-mile odd-shaped oval.

Jeff Williams and crew made their way to the race track on Friday still stuffed from Thanksgiving dinner.  The new body on the truck earned many compliments from fellow racers.  The truck turned laps as fast as it looked in practice.  With only two new Goodyear's on the right and very old left side tires, Williams was able to get the 28 around the track faster than anyone else.

During Saturdays afternoon practice the 28 truck tried on some new shoes on all four corners and ran like hell!  Williams pulled off the track after consistently turning times below the track record.  He wanted to save what he could for qualifying and the 50-lap main event.

Qualifying started at 3 pm, but that proved to be a little late.  Half the track was in shadows and the cold weather did not help conditions.  The 28 turned a fast time of 15.200, which proved good enough to qualify on pole.

Williams and crew decided to run the tires from Friday practice for the Trophy Dash.  Considering he only had to start the main event to win the Championship, Williams did not go for the win and just hung with the pack for the 4-lap dash.

The 50-lap main event was up next and the number 28 Spectre Performance, SinFuel Choppers, Rare Parts.com, Torco Racing Fuel flamed Ford F-150 would start in the third position.  In the first 10-laps there were a few spinouts that fed the caution flags.  Once everyone got into a rhythm the racing was good.  Williams passed the 17 truck of David Timewell for the lead early in the race.  Timewell did not make it easy, but eventually he got stuck on the outside and Williams made the pass.

The 28 was on fire!  Not like the way the last race ended.  The truck was so fast through the corners it passed lap traffic without a problem.  Williams was able to pass up to fourth place and could see third as the checkered dropped giving him his sixth-win of the season and second championship in a row.

Williams celebrated with some donuts in turn 1 and then held his arms high in front of the large crowd as he stood on the door of his truck.

JW Racing would like to thank all of the fans who come out to each race to watch the excitement unfold on the track.  JW Racing would also like to thank SinFuel Choppers for coming out and watching the race in the freezing temperatures.  Spectre Performance and Rare Parts.com, you guys ROCK!
